PHOENIX is a partner in ROAR – Re-entry Organizations and Resources – providing mentor services to those getting out of prison. ROAR is piloting a Transition Center to coordinate services and put a human face on transition. The services available through ROAR include: cognitive behavioral therapy; job readiness and placement; alcohol and drug treatment; access to computers, phones and mail; driver’s license reinstatement; expungements where appropriate; counseling; disability services; mental health services; and of course, mentoring from PHOENIX. They employ formerly incarcerated navigators to tailor community-based services to each parolee. All PHOENIX mentees will go through the ROAR Transition Center.
